ARKjammers is a group perfoming Acts of Random Kindness through music created by Noel Ekwabi and Aviline Ava. Aviline Ava is a singer from Africa and President of ARKjammers. Noel Ekwabi is Vice-President of ARKjammers and a very famous singer in Africa and Europe. They both feel that you should always count you blessings! Today I had the pleasure of watching the two perform and talk about their home. It was fun to watch and often they allowed you to get involved. Aviline Ava feels that values are imporatnt and RESPECT is one of the most important. Noel says, "Music is live! Africa can't live without music!...Very important in the community." Some music instruments they use are a Balafon (which is a framed wooden key precussion), a Cora (which is a 21 stringe harp), the Ngoni (which is a string intrument), a Kalimba (which is an instrument in the percusion family), and etc. They feel "You will come in as one person and leave out as a better person"-Aviline Ava.
*ARKjammers have a free show coming up on October 30th at 8 o'clock p.m. It will be held at Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts on 3500 R St. Please join us and bring your family and friends*
