Sonia Sanchez: Facts Of Life!

Did you know, in the 60's women weren't allowed to speak in church or be proffessors? Sonia Sanchez did this and many other fearless things during her younger days, saying, "people dared to step out and do what they wanted to do." She taught in jail and more than half were Vietnam and Korean veterans, and were hooked on drugs. Sonia Sanchez wants WORLD PEACE and feels that we[the world] has wars, but some don't even no where they are. "If you can't find it on the map, you cant die there."-Sonia Sanchez
Ms. Sanchez has produced over 16 books of poetry and her newest book titled Morning Hauikus debut in Janurary 2010, so be on the look out! She reads artist's work such as June Jordan, Alice Walker, Tony Morrison, and others. Sonia Sanchez says, the core of her inspiration is this earth.
