On, On To The Next One!

Ellington Kids are some of Jay-Z's Biggest fans, so when they found out he was coming to town, they quickly tried to buy tickets affordable to them. I personally, don't see what the big deal is. He'll come on stage, do a couple of singles, scream "Hov", and get the crowd hype off pure nothing. But, one Ellington student said I was missing the whole point. A 10th grade vocal student stated to me, "Hov is one of the greatest!...like you don't understand, his words flow together like 1,2,3 (and he begins to rap a couple lines from Lost One) 'I heard motherfuckers saying they made Hov/Made Hov say, "OK so, make another Hov"/Niggaz wasn't playing they day role...' see young, you just gotta listen..." I went home that night, and played nothing but Hov, until I got tired of his same nonchalant tone. When I came to school the next day, me and the boy had a nice conversation, explaining to each other what works and dosen't. At the end of the day, only but a few went to the concert. A Technical Design and Production freshman, came to school the next day, after the concert wipped out and her voice fading in and out. Her words slurring from excite, but I could understand when she said, "Jay-Z The Bestttt yall! He was cranking and he 'hit that', 'On, On To The Next One!'"
